CTA Option on Watch Page/Video Player

I would like the ability to place a CTA Button overlayed on the videos, just like how Loom does this.
Use case:
Content marketer has tons of free content and wants to have a "search my content" widget on his website. He also has content avaiable to his members behind his "member wall". It would be nice when people are searching using the "free widget" that there is a CTA button on top of the videos "Unlock All vidoes" which will drive people to his salespage/checkout for the upgrade
I see this working by having an option for each video (or even at the widget level for all videos using that widget, since vidoes may be in both a free and member widget). Would also be nice to have a color option for the button (just do it like Loom does)

I just came across another possible use case for CTAs at the end of a video or playlist, even for logged in users... HubSpot, in the HubSpot Academy, when you finish a course, recommends three options for possible next courses. It'd be amazing if we could link our users to the next recommended course/playlist so we guide their full, multi-playlist experience.

Hello all voters! Question here.
Would this be important to have these CTA cards appear on the video inside of Hubs as well? Or would you only want these cards appearing on videos that have been shared or embedded outside of Searchie?

Will McArthur: is like to add CTA cards in hub videos as well. I create hubs for coaching clients and I’d love to have some “upsells” at the end of their replay videos.
I’d want to be able to add different CTAs to different videos shared in different places.

Will McArthur: If they could be used on videos both in and outside of searchie hubs, that would be ideal. It would offer so much more flexibility for how we can use the CTAs... lead generation, clicking to download files, promoting the next video in a series... Lots of options.

Will McArthur: line previous comments, I can see the use for both.
In a video shared outside or embedded, it can be used for lead magnet, "subscribe" for more, unlock full content, etc.
For videos inside a hub, you can use for upsells when the hub is public and your are trying to sell, when you are promoting other products inside the membership, when you want to unlock the following module (like a mark complete)
And so on.

Will McArthur: Definitely both options, customizable per video. One use-case I can see is a "preview the course" feature where we embed a few videos on a sales page with a CTA card visible, but hide the card when members are watching the video in the hub. So maybe an "enable in hubs" checkbox, with a second tier to enable or disable in specific hubs.
BTW, for embedded videos, I'd love to have a method call that can activate or deactivate the cards via javascript running on a web page. The way Wistia does this is pretty good, for reference: https://wistia.com/support/developers/embed-options#embed-plugins

Will McArthur: Juan Yap did a great job outlining two different use cases.
Structurally, it seems it'd work best to be able to create a library of CTAs and then choose to apply them to a video... either (1) at a certain timecode or (2) at the end. And to be able to select whether it should be visible (1) in the hub, (2) in shared links for non-logged in users, or (3) in embeds; or any combination of those options.
That type of structure would allow all of us to upsell to current customers AND to non-customers, but in unique ways.

Will McArthur: yes inside the hub.

Yes I would like to be able to add a CTA at the end of my videos. Mine are on a public page - Landing page, so it would be nice to add a Buy How button or similar to the end of a video.

This would be an absolute game-changer. We could do value-first selling by providing video segments, or only certain videos in the playlist or widget. To lure them in, they'd still see the thumbnail, the video length, the description, etc. Anyway, rooting for this one!

A Customizable Watch Page has been talked about in the past, would allow for text, CTA, custom background, & Other features around the watch page that shows when you click a link to a shared Searchie video. Merged some other posts to this one.

Call to Action/Text Below Media

Here's the use case:
I have an Asana project management membership (tips, tutorials, workshops, templates, etc). When people anywhere (blogs, Asana forum, Q&A anywhere) asks a question, I want to post one of my videos as a response.
IMPORTANT: This is where it becomes a massive sales and marketing opportunity.
THE REQUEST: I want to be able to put a banner, or at minimum some text and a link, below every video that gets shared. Something to the tune of... "This is one of the 3,500 videos in Asana Power-Up (the largest, most searchable, fastest Asana help resource on the internet). Click here to learn more or join!"
That way, I can use the hundreds and hundreds of hours I've put into the content to help market and sell with a value-first approach.

I would love to have the ability to add multiple CTAs to each video that appear when I'm talking about that in the video and disappear when I'm done. Great for affiliate products, pdfs, supporting articles etc. I do this using Demio right now, but its a bit pricey for just that one functionality
