One of the incredible features of Searchie is the automated import of videos. Apart from the fact that it saves a heap of time, it also allows us to save time on our monthly import quota. Most of us have live sessions with our members but there's always that superfluous conversation at the beginning of videos with greetings and waiting for people to jump on the call. The ability to trim this out would once again take Searchie to the next level.

Brigitte: Totally agree... We are working on some things right now that might allow us to revive this feature. Stand by for updates ;).

I'mj looking for a trim feature as well - to delete the chatter at the beginning or end of the video

The most basic version is to just crop the beginning and end of a video recorded with Chrome Extension. That would be amazing! Will McArthur

Looking forward to this, any update on timeline for when it will be released? Will McArthur

Will McArthur Most basic is cut a portion into smaller segments. An hour long recording is better managed in 15 minute segments.Would be great to just cut a long segment and have 4 new videos available.
Will McArthur
Mindy: Interesting... This wouldn't quite fit the scope of this feature as trimming is meant to actually cut out parts of the video and leave the user with a brand new version of the video with some of the beginning and end trimmed off.
I think what you're looking for would classify as a "split" feature. Where you can split the content into more pieces, but the actual content inside of those pieces when put together would add up to the original video or audio file.

Will McArthur: I guess so - but if the original video was preserved, I could equally just trim the edges to make 4 right? Do we have split feature on the cards?
Will McArthur
Mindy: Yes that's a workaround. You could trim the same video 4 separate times to find the chunks you want.

Will McArthur: This would be awesome, to be able to "trim" down a video to a bite-sized chuck, then export it into a new video ... but retaining the original.
Use case would be for creating micro-content for use on social media, without the need to export the video into editing software, then re-upload to Searchie.
Another use case is if we wanted to turn a live training into an e-course. Being able to quickly chop the longer video into smaller sections that would become separate lessons.

Will McArthur I would first love to be able to trim the front and back. That's first. Roll that out. Then add ability to trim in the middle. My problem is I cannot use the automatic upload from Zoom because I
always
will need to trim the front and back. Will McArthur
