Content Scheduling
in beta
Will McArthur
As we roll out this feature in an early form, there are some capabilities that will not be included in this first version. We've created some "spin off" posts to handle other use cases and we encourage all of you to vote on these and create any other spin offs you desire from this original Playlist Scheduling Functionality.
Below are some additional functionality posts:
Add Scheduling and Release Dates to Sections, Pages, and Elements https://feedback.searchie.io/hubs/p/set-release-dates-for-sections-pages-and-elements
Add Scheduling to Attachments inside of playlists or files https://feedback.searchie.io/hubs/p/set-a-release-date-for-attachments
Add Scheduling to Files on their own https://feedback.searchie.io/hubs/p/add-scheduling-capabilities-to-individual-files
Add an Expiry Date to Content that removes it from the Hub and associated playlists https://feedback.searchie.io/hubs/p/expiry-date-for-audience-access-and-content-based-segment-conditions
Happy voting and talk soon!

Will McArthur Will there be notification emails for new content functionality?
Will McArthur
Trudy Williams Williams: This is a different feature, over here: https://feedback.searchie.io/hubs/p/new-content-notifications-1

Will McArthur based on a dashboard concept or a new member preparation page concept spoken about by Stu. Think of these as dynamic to do lists. Can we ensure that a playlist section can be hidden once all videos are watched. As it will be available on another page. hence hidden not deleted.
Will McArthur
Trudy Williams Williams: Yup! This is already possible with our audience segmenting.

This is awesome!

Cool, I am wondering if content could be dripped, based on when audience tag assignment date. Maybe consider for a later phase.
CASE: Members purchase various courses at different times and access in the same hub, so the registration date is not applicable. When they purchase a course an audience tag is assigned to them.
Similar scenario as the request from Julia Fratichellii
Will McArthur
AliM: Interesting, so basically "When audience tag is applied, wait X days, then show this content."
Trying to think through this and if it might be possible right now with Zapier or Webhooks. Definitely a pretty complex set up. There might be something simpler.
Splitting the courses into separate Hubs and using the Hub Switcher to keep them all connected would be the easiest way to simplify this, honestly.

Working to publicly release a BETA version of Content Scheduling that will apply to Playlist Content in Hubs.
We will create "spin off" posts from this one to capture all use cases that the initial launch will not cover and ask that you upvote the features you want to see us add to this initial BETA version.
Stay tuned!

I would love the option of posting a playlist into a section and be able to schedule the release of each video in that playlist. Thanks for considering.

Hi all! We recently released an update to segments that will allow you to segment your audience based on
RELATIVE REGISTRATION DATE
This means you can effectively drip content to your audience based on the date they registered or joined a specific Hub.
If you wanted to drip content to people in weekly intervals, you would create segments for:
Registered More Than 0 days ago - This would be initial content they see
Registered More Than 7 days ago - Content to appear after Week 1
Registered More Than 14 days ago - Content to appear after Week 2
etc. ...
Hope this makes sense, and keep your eyes peeled for more content scheduling features coming soon!

Will McArthur: we have one hub with multiple courses (pages) on it. That solution wouldn’t work for us then right, as it would suddenly give access to that video/ playlist for everyone that is already in the hub and possibly member of a different course in our hub?
Christopher Maselli
Will McArthur: Very nice! Thank you!!!
Will McArthur
Julia Fratichelli: If you are dripping the different content at different times to the same person in the same Hub, I don't think this would work. Since it's based on when they join a Hub, which would not take into account when they received access to specific content in the Hub.

Yes please. Without the ability to have team accounts (https://searchie.canny.io/apps/p/team-accounts) I am having to login and manually hide, unhide, etc.
Playlist dates are great. I am interested in setting dates on specific content items in the content library. so if they are a part of several playlists, they will only show when they are scheduled to be live.
I would like to see an option to schedule release and then another date to schedule close. We can then schedule content to be live and then remove it at a certain date.
Will McArthur
Nick Hemmert: The team accounts wouldn't really affect this scheduling of content, those are more for providing access to other people on your teams with varying levels of control. (Admin vs. Editor vs. Developer, etc.)
The scheduling of content to close is a great idea, though. And would probably be a separate update but something closely related to this. I have it in our requirements
